We all know that Hartlepool and the surrounding area is a hotbed for performing talent.

And the region has shown it to the rest of the nation time and time again by staring on some of the biggest TV talent shows like The Voice, The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

We have delved into our archives to look back at such stars in the making.

Who could forget Courtney Hadwin from Hesleden who reached the final of America's Got Talent in 2018? Host Tyra Banks told Courtney, then just 13: "You have introduced rock and roll to so many kids. This is just the beginning, you should be so proud." Later that year Courtney signed a record deal under Simon Cowell's Syco Records label.
