Here is a reminder of the days when St Hilda’s, Cameron, Brierton, Grantully and Thorpe were all helping to either treat people or bring new lives into the world.

1. Brierton Hospital

3. Thorpe Maternity Hospital
New mums, particularly from the East Durham area, will have given birth at Thorpe Maternity Hospital in years gone by. It was a much-used facility until the 1980s. The buildings may have been demolished long ago but we're sure the memories are still there for many people. Photo: HM
