A LADIES choir is days away from their next big fundraising occasion.

The Hartlepool Ladies Choir are busy in rehearsal for a concert to be held in the Borough Hall on Saturday, May 18.

The concert is titled And The World Was A Song and tickets are priced at £8 or £7 with concessions.

Spokesman Eileen McConnell said: “This second annual concert by the choir has come hard on the heels of a joint venture with the Male Voice Choir at the same venue, which was enthusiastically received.

“The catalogue of new material offers an exciting and varied programme.”

Eileen said the May concert would have a “cabaret-style setting which will hopefully add to the relaxing mood of what promises to be an entertaining evening”.

The choir has enjoyed a busy period.

Its members were among 2,000 singers who performed at the Royal Albert Hall Festival of Brass and Voices concert in November last year, and have taken part in concerts already this year.

Anyone wanting tickets for their May performance should contact any choir member or Mary Watling on (01429) 277612.
