WANTED – a chair for Santa Claus to take a seat while he meets children in Hartlepool.
A grotto is being set up at The Arches, in Park Road, Hartlepool, by Tracey Robinson who plans to donate proceeds to town charity Families First.
But Tracey, who runs The Arches-based company Faces Galore, said: “We need a large chair for Santa to sit in. I am hoping that someone can donate one for the three days that we are having the grotto.”
Santa will be at The Arches between 4pm and 9pm from December 2 to December 4.
Tracey, whose company does face painting, mini discos and children’s parties, said stalls at the venue on those dates would be selling a large range of items.
All the shops at The Arches are joining in with the event, said Tracey, whose contribution is to set up the grotto in her own Faces Galore premises.
Her company moved to The Arches in the summer after 14 years of being operated from Tracey’s home.
“I needed to have an office away from there. It was taking over the house,” said Tracey whose daughter Hannah, 19, also helps out.
Tracey added: “There will be 15 stalls on the market. We thought it would be a good idea at Christmas and most of the stalls are already gone.
“People can walk through to get to the grotto and we shall have all the walls covered in recycled material.”
But Tracey said: “We do need help with a donation of a chair.”
A visit to Santa’s grotto will cost £5 which includes a present. Tracey said: “Some of the cost will go to Families First.”
