DEDICATED dancer Ella Richardson has a clutch of trophies to her name after excelling at a town contest.
The Hartlepool six-year-old picked up an impressive five first places at the recent week-long British Association of Teachers of Dance Festival at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road.
Her family puts her success down to Ella’s sheer hard work.
Mum Sharon Richardson said: “It was an unbelievable week. I was so proud of the marks and trophies she got.
“She really works hard and is tapping and dancing from the minute she wakes on a morning until I put her to bed.”
Ella entered six events at the festival and took first places in the national, ballet, song and dance, character and modern sections.
And in the one category where she did not win – the tap section – she was runner-up.
She also won the title of overall novice junior champion.
Ella has been dancing since she was two years old with the Watson Academy of Dance which she attends four times a week.
Proud grandmother Janice Galbraith said: “I was chuffed to bits when Ella achieved these results. She works and tries so hard and has at last got a reward for her dedication to dance.”
Ella regularly practises in ballet, tap, modern and acro and has recently added hip-hop and musical theatre to her list.
Janice added: “She never tires of dancing and adores the three teachers. She gets on great with all the other students. It is like an extended family.”
