GARDENING: Plant me now!

PLANT Me Now has launched its new range of winter bedding plants, with many plants new to the UK.

These include: Polyanthus Fire Dragon produces vivid, warm coloured blooms.

Primrose Moonstone: early flowering, with white petals and blue veins that give a textured look.

Viola Teardrops Pink Blush: a new colour in a popular series. Teardrop violas are good in hanging baskets and have a semi-trailing, cascading habit.

Pansy Frizzle Sizzle Burgundy: new to the range, hardy with great habit and a producer of unique frilly blooms.

I’ve also picked out ornamental cabbage Northern Lights Fringed Red - I’m growing winter brassicas this year and they’d fit in well with my “productive yet decorative” garden.

Planting in September/October will give the roots time to establish before the cold weather sets in.
