FANCY date – or a few – in one night?

Well now is your chance and you can raise money for a Hartlepool charity in the process.

Hartlepool Families First will be playing Cupid for the charity’s very own speed dating event, taking place next month.

Organiser Marcus Myrie, the charity’s senior fundraising and corporate events officer, is now on the lookout for around 30 women and 30 men who are on the lookout for love – or just up for a good laugh – and want to play their part in raising vital cash for the cause.

Marcus said: “It’s a bit of a risky event because it’s one of those where I don’t really know what sort of response we will get. But it will all be good fun and the more people we can get there on the night the better, obviously.”

Marcus added: “Each date will last five minutes and it’s up to the pair to decide whether there was a little spark and they would like to know more about the person or if it’s just a no-go and then we’ll match them up again with someone else.”

The event will take place at the charity’s base, Cafe One77, in York Road on Saturday, February 15, from 8pm. Tickets are priced at £10 which include a drink and some nibbles.
