WOMEN in east Durham are being urged to take up a variety of sports, from pole-dancing to zumba, during a forthcoming fitness festival.
Females aged over 14 are invited to take up fun classes to help them get fit in the new year.
Exercise is given a twist with sessions including dance and pole fitness at a three-hour festival of fitness fun organised by Durham County Council.
As well as zumba, there will be more traditional classes and activities, including beginners’ running and spinning sessions.
Those who attend the event will also be given access to the gym and the chance to get a health check.
The festival is being held at Freeman’s Quay Leisure Centre, in Walkergate, Durham, on Saturday, January 14, from 10am-1pm and entry costs £3.50.
To book a place and receive a free £5 health and fitness voucher, call (0191) 3018306.
