Laughs and legends

STARS from the world of comedy and tribute acts to music legends. It’s all part of the April line-up on a Tees Valley stage.

The Forum Theatre in Billingham has announced its programme for next month and it starts with an appearance by comic Jim Davidson on Thursday, April 12.

His show for adults only starts at 7.30pm and all tickets are £20.

The next day, music lovers can enjoy a tribute to Billy Fury. Halfway To Paradise starts at 7.30m and features some of Billy’s 29 hits performed by his own band, Fury’s Tornados.

Tickets are £17.50 or £16.50 with concessions.

Children’s entertainment takes over on Saturday, April 14, when Fireman Sam’s live show comes to town at 1pm and 3.30pm. All seats are £12.50 or £10.50 with concessions.

And on Friday, April 20, Radio One DJ Mike Read leads the way with a tribute to music from three decades ago with 80’s Mania, at 7.30pm.

All seats are £19.50 or £17.50 with concessions.

The following Saturday, more than two hours of music is planned in a show called Bobby Socks and Blue Jeans. The 7.30pm show has tickets at £18.

It’s back to comedy on Sunday, April 22, when The Chuckle Brothers come to town with their show called The Return of the Pirates of the River Rother 2 – In Stranger Tights.

Shows are planned at 2pm and 5pm and seats are £14.

Then on April 26, a show called WildBoyz will feature stars such as Alex Reid, Marcus Patrick from Hollyoaks, Danny Young from Coronation Street and Dale Howard from Big Brother. Organisers say it is a perfect event for a girls night out.

It starts at 7.30pm with tickets at £23.50.

There’s more comedy on Friday, April 27, with Irish comedian Dave Young performing at 7.30pm and all seats at £18.50.

Rounding off the month, on Saturday, April 28, is Solid Gold Country Legends, which pays homage to the best in country music. The night is led by British singing stars Jeanne Jordan and BJ Thomas together with the Outlaw Country Band.

It starts at 7.30pm with tickets at £18 or £16.50 with concessions.
