FORMER classmates travelled from as far as the North-West to make it to their school reunion.
Around 50 people turned out for a gathering of Henry Smith School’s Class of 1978.
The event was held at the United Services Social Club, in Miers Avenue, in the West View area of Hartlepool, on Saturday night.
It was organised by former pupil Michael Gant, who lives on Hartlepool’s Headland.
The 52-year-old, who is married to Brenda and dad to Jennifer and Joshua, said: “There was about 50 of us there.
“It was lovely to see all the old faces.”
Michael, who runs Rainbow Photography, also based on the Headland, provided the entertainment on the night, performing with his band Presence.
There was also a 1970s disco provided by Kenny Day.
Michael said: “It was a good night playing with my band and then all the old 70s school disco stuff got all the girls up dancing.”
Among those who turned up were Dave Elder who came from Blackpool and Dawn Carol who travelled from Blackpool, Audrey Wallace, Susan Jackson, Dave Allen, Lynne Pouton Graham, Alison McGovern and John Horsfield, who wrote on the Henry Smith Class of 1978 Facebook page: “Great night well done Michael Gant, nice to see so many people enjoying themselves spot on mate here’s to the next one.”
Also there were Caron Harrison, Judith Sherry, Paul Daley, Pat Sprintall and Elaine Hare, among others.
Around a dozen of the ex-classmates continued the fun by going into town afterwards.
