But, yet again, we appeal to readers to help put names to faces - as none of the original Mail picture captions have survived.

“I would love to find out more about the Cerebos and sawmill staff. Even dates would be great,” said archivist Susan Swinney.

“And I particularly like the Coronation Party image, although the ones of the drama group and Red Cross staff are smashing too.”
