Hartlepudlians at work at play in the 1950s are the focus of today’s batch of mystery photos.
“This week’s rummage through the Mail’s old glass negatives has unearthed some real gems,” said archivist Susan Swinney.
“My particular favourite shows a cattle market in full swing. It is pure nostalgia; you just wouldn’t see it today.
“But I also love the one of the Ernie Wilson Band. I’m hoping readers might recognise which venue they are playing in.”
Also featured today is an undated shot of West Hartlepool Chrysanthemum Show, as well as piles of ingots at a mystery forge.
“If anyone can put a name to a face or place, I’d like to hear from them. It helps me keep our files updated,” said Susan.
