TOGETHER Again has been enlisted to help reunite former squaddies in time for a get-together next month.
Stephen Floyd is trying to find Hartlepool man John Lowe, who would be aged around 50.
Stephen would like to invite John to a military reunion in Blackpool on February 22.
The pair were both privates serving with the British Army with 52 Ordnance Company, which was based in Pombson, near Paderborn in Germany, between 1983 and 1986.
But Stephen, now 48, and living in Wem, Shropshire, said: “We would love him to be there, no one has heard from him in years.”
Stephen is now married with two children and left the forces last year after 30 years.
He had reached the rank of Sergeant Major.
Stephen said John had two children at the time they served together and was married. He has heard John may now be living in Yarm.
He added: “After Germany I went off and went around the world.
“We had a 25th anniversary reunion five years ago, but John wasn’t there and a lot of lads were asking after him.”
Stephen, who now works on the railways and runs a small oven-cleaning business, recalled: “We used to call him Geordie Lowe, I think he went to another unit in the UK.
“We would love to meet him again. He was just one of the main players, one of the good lads, he was always a good, fun lad.
“We used to call him Monkey Hanger.”
If John recognises himself, or if anyone else can help, they can contact Stephen on 07940483561.
