HARTLEPOOL’S former United bus station is pictured in our main photograph today.
Sacrificed as part of the creation of Hartlepool Marina in the 1990s, the area is now home to a car-park and the Marina Way junction.
The station itself, however, was eventually replaced by the transport interchange, just visible in our inset picture.
The area has changed considerably over the years and the Marina and Church Street are now at the centre of the council’s Hartlepool Vision plans to boost business in the town.
What are your memories of the United bus station?
It looks a lot busier than the transport interchange does now.
