A PSYCHIC night is taking place next month to raise funds for a struggling service which helps the bereaved.
People are invited to reach to the spirit world as top mediums Peter Crawford and Irene Wilson put on an evening of clairvoyance in aid of Hartlepool Bereavement Service.
The event will take place at The Staincliffe Hotel, at Seaton Carew, from 7pm on Thursday, May 9.
The Mail reported earlier this week that the cash-strapped service, based in Park Road, was turned down for vital cash from the Big Lottery Fund at the start of the year, leaving its future hanging in the balance.
Staff have had to cut their hours to keep the service running while it looks for financial support.
The service has been given a boost after it was given another chance to apply for three years’ funding from the lottery, but it will be several months before it hears if they have been success.
Manager Linda Parker said: “We are really grateful that Peter and Irene are helping us.
“They are top-class mediums and also do a lot of charity work.
“Peter has known of our agency for a while and sees bereaved people on a day-to-day basis.
“He sees the effects and appreciates what our agency does.”
Peter, who along with Irene has raised more than £50,000 for charity over the past 12 years, said: “I just felt it would be good to do a charity night for the service.”
Tickets for the event are £14 and available from the bereavement service, at 107 Park Road, or from the Staincliffe.
