A GROUP which aims to maintain and enhance a Hartlepool cemetery has organised a series of festive events.
The overall aim of The Friends of Stranton Cemetery group, in Tanfield Road, is to raise awareness of the site, help ensure it remains a peaceful environment and keep crime to an absolute minimum.
Christmas Celebration is due to take place this Saturday, December 7, at 11am at the Inspiration Coffee House.
The light switch on celebration will be accompanied by carols inside the cafe and it will give members of the public an opportunity to come along and add a bauble to the Christmas tree to help support the Friends of Stranton Cemetery and Hartlepool & District Hospice.
Meanwhile, the Concert of Remembrance, takes place on Thursday, December 12, at 4.50pm for a 5pm start.
Supported by St Aidan’s School Choir, this is an opportunity for people to come along and remember friends and family members at Christmas.
People are advised to wear warm clothing and to bring a torch.
Finally, the Christmas Craft Fair, takes place on Saturday, December 14, between 11am and 2pm. The event is being jointly hosted with Inspirations Coffee Shop and Stranton Nursery.
Santa Claus will be in residence from 12.45pm onwards. Organisers say this event will be held to the rear of Inspirations Cafe and Stranton Nursery.
