DANCERS by the dozen turned out in force for a Hartlepool festival which lasts for six days.
The Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, saw some of the cream of North-East dancing on stage.
They were all hoping to win awards in the Hartlepool Stage Festival which has been held each year for 40 years and is organised by Geoff Lucas.
More than 1,000 performances were due to be judged in the festival which started on Sunday and lasts until Friday.
Dance schools from Hartlepool, Middlesbrough and South Shields are among those represented.
Geoff said the show was a celebration of the talent which exists in the North-East which was the rival of anything the rest of the country had to offer.
Geoff was also the organiser of the British Association of Teachers of Dance stage festival which was held at the same venue over six days last month.
