YOUNG people are being urged to get their applications in for an action-packed voluntary programme.
The National Citizen Service pilot is giving 12,000 teenagers nationwide the chance to take part in the summer scheme which includes away-from-home experiences and fun and challenging activities.
About 900 youngsters from across Teesside have already secured their place and there are now only 100 free places left.
Teesside is one of only a few pilots taking place across the country.
It is being led by Safe in Tees Valley in partnership with local authorities, uniformed services, young people’s services, the Tall Ships Youth Trust, Zenith Leisure and a range of voluntary services.
Youngsters wanting more information on the scheme can call Paula Davidson on (0845) 271 3883 or visit www.direct.gov.uk/nationalcitizenservice.
Application forms can be downloaded at www.safeinteesvalley.org/cyp.
