A DANCE school teacher has revealed the new twist to a classic tale which will come to a Hartlepool stage soon.

Leanne Jeffries is the mastermind behind the Northern Arts section of Elwick Dance Academy’s production of Alice, which is a twist on Alice in Wonderland.

It runs from Thursday, July 19, to Saturday, July 21, at the Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, Hartlepool with shows at 7pm each night.

Tickets are £9.50 and £8.50 with concessions.

Leanne, pictured in Elwick Academy’s production of the Snow Queen earlier this year, said: “We have been working hard at it for weeks and I am sure it’s one not to be missed.

“I have based the story around the fairytale, Alice In Wonderland, only now Alice is some years older and has unfortunately endured tragedy.

“It has recently made her usual dreams of wonderland quite different from the norm and, at times, quite tormenting yet quirky.”

She said the show was “filled with song and dance and captivating drama. It is suitable for all audiences.”
