A businessman has celebrated 20 years of music by raising money for charity.
Gavin Lancaster held a party at Hartlepool Cricket Club with proceeds going to Hartlepool & District Hospice.
It marked the anniversary of his company Higham Discos which he formed as a 16-year-old while he was still a student.
He said: “We raised £306 which was from donations on the door, selling raffle tickets, photo shoots and facepainting, glitter tattoos, and nail painting.”
Gavin thanked numerous organisations for their support. They included Hartlepool Cricket Club which provided the room and hot dogs, Inspired Portraits for being the official photographer and for the private photo shoots, and @ Your Tips beauty for the face painting, glitter tattoos and nail painting.
He also thanked Truly Scrumptious Cakes for the Higham Discos cupcakes, Puddle Ducks “for bringing the Puddle Duck along”, all those who donated raffle prizes and “family, friends and customers for coming and supporting a great cause.”
Gavin developed his business by building up a list of primary schools which he did regular discos for. He now has customers from North Yorkshire to Gateshead.
