A night with the stars for Brooke

STUNNED schoolgirl Brooke Young is set for a night in the company of the stars thanks to a £2 winning raffle ticket.

The seven-year-old, from Naisberry Park, Hartlepool, will head to London this Sunday with her mum Helen, 29, for a fantastic night at the Palace Theatre.

Brooke will meet famous faces such as David Suchet, Rupert Everett, Stephen Fry, Imelda Staunton, Michael Ball, Melanie C, Sian Phillips, Simon Callow and Rob Brydon after a £2 raffle ticket came up trumps.

She entered a draw held by the Stagecoach organisation for the chance to win a night out with the stars – and won.

But despite all those big names, there’s one particular star that Brooke is looking forward to meeting.

“It’s Will Young,” said mum Helen, a student at Teesside University, who is studying to be an accountant. “She is really looking forward to meeting him.”

Helen, who is married to health and safety consultant Kelvin Young, 39, added: “We were delighted to get the call that Brooke had won. Brooke really wanted to go but of course we felt that it was very unlikely. We can’t wait.”

The raffle draw was held in aid of the Whatsonstage.com Awards Charity of the Year called InterAct.

InterAct is part of the Stagecoach Charitable Trust which enables disadvantaged children and young people to take part in performing arts workshops around the UK.

Brooke is a member of Stagecoach, in Hartlepool, as is her five-year-old brother Thomas. Both attend Red House School, in Norton.

As well as winning the visit to the theatre, Brooke and her mum will also get a VIP Arrival, a backstage pass to meet the stars, hotel accommodation and a top seat to enjoy the awards ceremony and the star-studded show.
