ANOTHER chance for people to try out volunteering in the countryside is on the way in Hartlepool.
The Countryside and Summerhill teams will be holding a taster day for people wanting to find out whether activities such as constructing a hedge is for them.
The taster event will be held on Sunday, December 16, from 10am to 2.30pm, at the 100-acre Summerhill country park, off Catcote Road.
Anyone wanting to take part should wear warm clothing, waterproofs and strong footwear. All equipment is provided but people should bring a packed lunch. The event is only open to people aged 16 and over.
Summerhill is a vast site with facilities for rock climbing, cycling, walking, and orienteering. It also hosts activity sessions in archery, high ropes, rock climbing, orienteering, and team games.
It also has a boulder park and a BMX cycling course. It is also a Local Nature Reserve where people can learn more about wildlife.
