Accused of petrol thefts

TWO people have been charged with making off from various petrol stations without paying for fuel.

A man and a woman, both aged around 20, are accused of fleeing without paying for around £180 of fuel from six petrol stations in County Durham.

The thefts are all said to have taken place this month.

Police say they include two from Hawthorn Services on the A19 at Easington and one from the Jet garage on the A181 at Wheatley Hill.

The others are said to have happened at two petrol stations in Seaham and one in Spennymoor.

The man and woman, both from Seaham, have been conditionally bailed until they appear at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court next month.
