Footballer Adam Johnson made a separate Snapchat account to contact the teenager he is charged of engaging in sexual activity with, a court has heard.
A friend of the schoolgirl at the centre of the charges, who will be known as Friend 3, made the revelation at Bradford Crown Court today.
Johnson, 28, is accused of two counts of sexual activity with a child. He has already admitted grooming and one count of sexual activity with a child, relating to kissing.
Jurors have been told this week that Johnson and the girl involved, who was 15 at the time of the offences, communicated on WhatsApp and Snapchat.

In a pre-recorded interview with the police, played today, Friend 3 said that Johnson made a "new Snapchat" profile just to use with the girl.
This was so Johnson's girlfriend, Stacey Flounders, couldn't see who he had been speaking to, the friend continued.
"He's got his own Snapchat account, but he made a separate one so he could talk to [the girl] without Stacey knowing," she added.
Friend 3 also revealed to the court that Johnson was already in communication with the girl at the time Stacey gave birth to their daughter.
She said: "They were talking at the time that Stacey had the baby because he was texting [the girl] saying she had had the baby and what they were going to call it."
Friend 3 also spoke in interview about a planned third meeting between the girl and Johnson, which he failed to turn up for.
The girl was "mad at him" for "messing her about" after she had cancelled other long-standing plans specifically to meet him, the friend said.
Later that night, people began to talk about the girl and Johnson, Friend 3 continued, so she "panicked" and told her parents.
She added: "She was pretty distraught ... about it. Everyone was finding out, she was panicking and worrying. She wasn't feeling her best."
