A COUNCIL-RUN after school and holiday programme for children is opening its doors to parents who might be interested in using the service.
Oscar Playcentre is based in the former West Rugby clubhouse on Catcote Road and provides after school care as well as a programme of activities during most school holiday periods.
The service, judged to be “outstanding” by Ofsted is ideal for parents who have to juggle working with bringing up their children.
Two drop-in sessions are planned at the Catcote Road venue to enable parents to view the facilities and meet staff. They will be held on Monday, July 6, and Tuesday, July 14. Both are held from 6.15pm to 8pm.
Sandra Robinson, the Hartlepool Borough Council’s Out of School Coordinator, said: “With West Rugby Club moving into their brand new clubhouse, we’ve now got exclusive use of their former clubhouse which is fantastic. Staff have even been giving up their spare time recently to spruce the place up. The drop-in sessions will provide an excellent opportunity for parents to come and view our facilities, have an informal chat with staff and ask any questions they have. One of the added benefits of our location is that we have an expanse of grassed area which is great for outdoor activities, particularly over the summer months.”
Oscar’s summer holiday programme is open to children between 3 and 16. Parents are able drop off their children from 8.00am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. Kids then embark on an action-packed day of fun and thrills prior to being collected by parents before 5.45pm. Call 07771 936968 or e-mail email@example.com
