EMERGENCY services were called to an incident in which a man sustained multiple injuries from falling 16ft from a ladder.
The Great North Air Ambulance, North East Ambulance paramedics and officers from Cleveland Police were called to the incident in Dunbar Road, Billingham.
The man, who is in his 60s, is fell from the ladder at around 2pm and received head, arm and leg injuries.
The Great North Air Ambulance (GNAA) was called to the scene by paramedics but was unable to land nearby.
As a result, an air ambulance doctor and paramedic travelled with the injured man in a road ambulance to hospital.
A spokesman for the GNAA said: “We were called to the incident at 2pm to reports of a man in his 60s having fallen 16ft from a ladder.
“He sustained multiple injuries to his head, arms and legs.
“We were not able to land directly by the patient so our medics, a doctor and a paramedic, travelled with him in a road ambulance en route to hospital.”
Police officers closed the road while the ambulance vehicle were on scene.
