A HARTLEPOOL college student has landed a job working on a top TV detective drama.
Alison Lyons, who studied at Cleveland College of Art & Design’s Hartlepool campus, is now working as a costume trainee on ITV1’s Vera, starring Brenda Blethyn, after achieving a first-class honours degree in entertainment design crafts.
Alison, 21, said: “I was really happy to get a first. I was so pleased and even happier to get a job working on Vera.
“It’s fantastic that I have started work as soon as I have qualified, I am over the moon.”
Alison, who is from Gateshead, who has said she particularly enjoys working on stunt scenes, has already been praised by costume supervisor Kate O’Farrell who said: “Alison is doing very well and is picking it up great.”
The graduate’s accomplishment reflects the college’s overall outstanding rate of success, with one in three of its students achieving a first-class honours degree.
