FIREFIGHTERS spent more than two hours battling a blaze at an allotment site in the early hours.
The crew from Stranton Station, in Hartlepool, were called to the allotments off Dowson Road, in King Oswy, just after 2am today.
The fire caused severe damage to three allotments and seven sheds.
Firefighters are still looking into the cause of the blaze.
Watch manager Jason Wood said: “We got a call from a member of the public telling us of the fire, it was quite severe and visible from King Oswy Drive.
“We sent two appliances and left the allotments just after 4am today.”
