Davies limped off midway through last weekend's defeat to Ebbsfleet United at the Super 6 Stadium.

And after missing the draw at Braintree with an ankle injury, the player was seen at the ground on Saturday, without the need for a protective boot or cast.

He was not involved in the game, but admits he is keen to get back as soon as he possibly can having enjoyed his start to life in blue and white.

"I'm gutted that I picked up the injury last Saturday and that things are a little on-hold for me at the moment now while I recover and get back to fitness," said central defender Davies.

"I've had injuries through my career, of course, but this was a freak accident really and it's obviously very frustrating because I was really enjoying the start of my Hartlepool career.

"We have some good medical staff, I will be working with them closely to get back.

"It is what it is though, and now I am just looking at every day moving forward and trying to get back in action as quick as possible."

No timescale has been put on Davies' return to the team but hopes are high the injury is not as bad as first feared after assessment last week.

"I'm a quick healer and I always put myself out there so hopefully it won't be too long," he continued, speaking to Blue Print.
