Appeal after boy hit by car

POLICE are hunting the driver of a car that hit a teenager and left him with a leg injury.

The 14-year-old boy was struck by a car in Tarnston Road, in the Naisberry Park area of Hartlepool.

Police say the vehicle, which is described as white and of similar size to a Ford Focus, did not stop.

Investigators want to speak to the driver and are also appealing for any witnesses to the incident that happened at around 8.30am on Friday, September 30.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Police are appealing for the driver of a car to come forward after a collision with a pedestrian.

“The boy suffered ligament damage to his ankle.”

The driver or anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact PC Neil Armstrong, from Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, on (01642) 326326, quoting event number U179161.
