AN appeal has been launched to trace the family of a pensioner who died at his home.

Michael Raybould, 71, passed away at his home in Miers Avenue, Hartlepool, on Boxing Day.

It is understood he had family in the Bradford area.

Leesa Dixon, property and finance officer in Hartlepool Borough Council’s Child and Adult Services Department, said: “We are very keen to trace Mr Raybould’s surviving relatives at this very sad time, so that they have the opportunity to attend his funeral.

“Unfortunately, we have very few details about Mr Raybould’s life.

“We know that he was not married and as far as we are aware he didn’t have any children.

“His father Henry died in Hartlepool in October 1943 just before he was born and apparently when he was younger Michael used to travel to the Bradford area to visit relatives on his father’s side.

“If any of Mr Raybould’s relatives are still alive, we would be very grateful if they could please get in touch with us as a matter of urgency.”
