Arsonists strike at waste sites

ARSONISTS are being blamed after three rubbish fires on separate sites at an industrial estate.

Crews from Stranton Fire Station were called to recycling sites in Mainsforth Terrace, Hartlepool, shortly before 3pm on Saturday.

The first incident involved two large containers packed with rubbish that had been deliberately set on fire.

Once crews had dealt with that they were called to an empty compound across the road to deal with a large rubbish fire in the centre of the forecourt.

Officers say both fires were started deliberately. They returned tothe first site on Sunday night after another rubbish fire was reported inside containers.
