A DRAWING event which is part of a national campaign is set to be held next week.
The event will take place at Summerhill local nature reserve and outdoor activities centre in Hartlepool, on Wednesday, October 26, and is open to young and old alike.
It is hoped that the 100-acre site’s scenery and wildlife will provide the inspiration for people to develop their drawing skills.
The Drawn to Summerhill event is part of the National Big Draw initiative organised by the Campaign for Drawing.
It is to be led by Hartlepool Borough Council’s Countryside Team with expert support from Andy Watts from Arts Hartlepool and there will be two separate drop-in sessions, from 10.30am-noon or 1.30pm-3pm.
Basic equipment will be provided and there is a charge of £2 per person.
Following the event, the work produced will be put on display at Summerhill.
The event is part of Summerhill’s October half-term programme, which also includes boulder climbing for ages eight and over on Tuesday, October 25, from 1pm-3pm and an autumn craft walk on Friday, October 28, from 1pm-3pm for children aged 5-10.
