Little Ella Grace became the fifth generation in this proud family when she was born on the same day as her great-grandmother’s retirement.
The Hugill’s and the Sotheran’s were overjoyed at the early arrival of little Ella Grace Hugill who made up the family’s fifth generation.
The gorgeous five-week old was born on at the University Hospital of North Tees on July 29 - the same day her great-great grandmother Linda Hugill, 60, retired from her social services job. Weighing 6lb, the newest addition to the family sees family ages range from 77 to just five weeks.
“It’s great and quite an achievement,” mother-of- three, Linda Hugill said.
“I retired from my job of 20 years in the social services property and finance team at the Civic Centre in Hartlepool, on the same day Ella was born.
“It was quite a surprise as weren’t expecting her until August 19. I can’t believe I’m a great nana - I’m not old enough! We often do things together as a family - we’re quite close.”
The family is made up of great-great grandmother Vonny Sotheran, 77, from Seaton, her daughter Linda Hugill, 60, from Seaton, her daughter, social worker, Kelly Hugill, 39, of Grange Road, and her daughter Rayanne Hugill, 19 , of Caledonian Road. Rayanne’s daughter Ella Grace Hugill completes the family’s five generations.
“It was my nana Linda who told me about Ella making up five generations in the family,” new mum Rayanne said.
“I had never heard of anybody with five generations before, I have only heard of four generations.”
