INDIE rockers Frankie & The Heartstrings are set to make the short journey down the A19 to perform in Hartlepool.

The Sunderland five-piece will bring their toe-tapping sound to The Studio, in Tower Street, on Sunday, June 9.

Tickets are already on sale and with a large cult following eager to hear the sound of the band’s new album, due to be released next month, are expected to sell fast.

Frankie & The Heartstrings’ debut album, Hunger, was released in 2011 and reached number 32 in the UK album chart.

The Mackem lads have graced a Glastonbury stage as well as supporting bands including Kaiser Chiefs, The Vaccines and Florence and the Machine.

The band’s second album, titled The Days Run Away, will be released on May 27, less than two weeks before the gig in Hartlepool.
