Pool began the second half well with Lee Maddison running hard only to be stopped short.

All for One added a crucial fourth try though Hartlepool had the final word when Brad Green ran in a score with the last play of the game.

Coach Mick Ainslie said: "We came up against a very good side, but the boys kept going.".

Hartlepool will play Olymp, one of the two clubs from Kazakhstan, in their final game in Group A later this afternoon.
