Two big-hearted barmaids will throw open the doors of a Hartlepool club to raise funds for charity.
Donna Williamson, 42, and Cheryl Ross, 28, will hold a Big Breakfast event at the Ye Olde Durhams Social Club on St Aidan’s Street, Hartlepool, to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Hartlepool & District Hospice.
The pair decided to hold the event on March 12 after experiencing the effects of cancer in their families.
The event will run from 11am to 2pm and feature crafts, a DJ and characters, alongside the breakfast spread.
Donna, from Nottingham Walk, and Cheryl from West View, said they were looking forward to the day.
Donna said: “We decided to hold it because we have both been affected by cancer,” she said.
“It is our first charity event and the proceeds will be split between the two charities.
“We hope that people will come along and the community will get involved.
“There will be characters and entertainment for the kids along with a raffle and a cheeky little quiz.”
Children can expect to be entertained by TLC Sparkling Events characters Elsa and Anna from Frozen and Mickey and Minnie Mouse from Little Princesses Tea Parties. The Hartlepool Bubble Man will also be on hand to entertain while guests enjoy tunes from DJ Scott Noble.
Donna added: “We want to thank the committee and staff at the Ye Olde Durhams for the venue and their donation.
“Billingham Tesco’s bakery department have also donated bread and croissants for the breakfast and Home Bargains in Teesby have donated crafts as well as tea, coffee and sugar.”
The Hartlepool and District Hospice provides care and support for people affected by life limiting illness or the death of a loved one while Cancer Research UK aims to pioneer research to cure all cancers. Any businesses interested in donating food and raffle prizes call: 07719945197.
