ANYONE up for a right old giggle?
Hartlepool’s popular Hot Potato Comedy Club is to return to the town later this month with a string of belly-hurting gags from some of the country’s top comedians.
The brand new season will get off to a flying start at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre, in Raby Road, on Saturday, September 27.
Then every four weeks following that there will be further nights to remember.
The monthly Saturday night comedy capers kick off with a typically storming line-up which includes:
• Steve Harris,
• Seymour Mace,
• Carl Jones,
• Matt Reed as special guest MC.
Peter Vincent, from the comedy club’s promoters Ten Feet Tall, said: “We couldn’t have bagged a better line-up to crack on with the brand new season.
“It’s easy to see why Steve Harris has been a popular support for the likes of Peter Kay, Lee Evans, and Johnny Vegas along the way.
“He’s a crowd-pleasing force of nature, and always goes down a storm wherever he plays.”
And sharp-eyed telly fans will know Seymour Mace from starring alongside Johnny Vegas in cult BBC3 sitcom Ideal.
“Seymour is easily one of our favourite comics,” said Peter. “There’s always a real buzz when he’s on stage.
“You never know what he’s going to do or say next – but he’s always absolutely amazing, a real one-off.”
He added: “Carl Jones is really starting to make a big name for himself on the comedy circuit, and Matt Reed needs no introduction to Hartlepool comedy fans.
“It’s always a great night when Matt’s around.
“So here we go. The perfect Saturday night out. We can’t wait to get cracking.”
Tickets cost £6 up to a week before the show, then cost either £9 or £8, from Hartlepool Tourist Information Centre, in Church Square. The box office can also be called on (01429) 890000, or buy online at www.hartlepool.gov.uk/book_it
