The energetic fun day was organised by Activities Coordinator Janice Hardy. She said: “Keeping fit and active as we get older is important as it helps keep us healthy, energetic and independent.

“Exercise has such great benefits and there are so many ways that you can stay active, regardless of age or ability. We like to incorporate activities and events that encourage residents to exercise in a fun way. We are holding an Easter egg and spoon race next week and have regular visits from a personal trainer who hosts keep fit seated exercise classes with the residents.”

Michelle Howarth, manager at Field View, said: “It’s been a really fun day for all involved. Taking part in these sorts of social activities are a great way for older people to keep active, and also giving the opportunity for staff and residents to bond with each other through some friendly competition and team work.”
