POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a blaze that caused up to £10,000 of damage at an allotment.
Peterlee Police are asking for information following a fire at took place at Pickering Hill Cottage allotments, in Wingate.
The incident, which is being treated as arson, happened around 11.40pm on Wednesday, February 1.
Police say extensive damage was caused and two caravans, three large wooden buildings and a tractor were all totally destroyed.
The estimated cost of the damage was between £8,000 and £10,000.
As reported by the Hartlepool Mail last Thursday, fire crews from Peterlee and Wheatley Hill spent three hours tackling the blaze at the site, which is close to the Wingate Grange Industrial Estate, off North Road.
