A HERO cop who was blinded after being shot by crazed gunman Raoul Moat could be heading to Hartlepool for an inspirational talk-in.
PC David Rathband was shot by Moat last summer before the former nightclub doorman went on the run.
Hartlepool-based publicity firm Goffy Media, run by Paul “Goffy” Gough, has arranged a gala dinner in honour of PC Rathband at Ramside Hall, Durham, on Friday.
The event will raise money for the Blue Lamp Foundation, a charity set up by PC Rathband to help fellow officers injured in the line of duty.
PC Rathband said he would like to do talk-in events to raise awareness of his charity.
Goffy said: “Friday will be a fantastic occasion. Hundreds of people are attending and some well-known faces have agreed to join us.
“I have spoken to David and his team regarding a series of inspirational talk-ins which we are looking to undertake later this year.
“Hartlepool will be one of the first areas we would look to bring the event to.”
