A CHARITY day staged by a Hartlepool dad to help fight meningitis raised more than £300.
Jimmy Hepple organised the football-themed fundraiser at Hartlepool Rugby Football Club on Easington Road.
It included a fun World Cup-themed five-a-side football competition followed by live music and raffle in the club house.
The winner of the football tournament was a side representing the Ivory Coast, which beat the Faroe Islands on penalties.
The day raised £331.37 for Meningitis UK, which is working to find a vaccine for the potentially deadly bug.
Electrician Jimmy, 26, was inspired to help after his son James, aged eight, successfully fought off the disease two years ago.
He said: “A fantastic day was had by all.”
Local businesses donated prizes for the raffle.
