Boy injured in hit-and-run

A YOUNG boy was rushed to hospital after being injured by a hit-and-run driver.

The six-year-old Hartlepool boy is not thought to have life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in the town’s Davison Drive.

Police say a silver and green-coloured Mitsubishi Pajero hit the youngster at around 5.30pm yesterday, before leaving the scene.

The boy was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, suffering with injuries to his hip.
