Break out the bunting for Hartlepool Carnival

Headland Carnival
Headland Carnival

Headland residents and businesses are encouraged to bring out the bunting and decorate their home and premises for Hartlepool Carnival.

The carnival is in full swing with community events taking place throughout the week.

Tomorrow will see the judging for this year’s Best Dressed House and Business Competition.

Judges will hit the streets from 1pm to decide this year’s winners.

There were some fantastic entries last year and organisers are confident of another good show.

The best dressed house will pocket £50 while the best looking business will earn a trophy to put on display.

The winners will be notified by phone.

Today sees a competition for children aged 11 to 16 to crown this year’s carnival prince and princess.

It is at the Victoria Arms, on Northgate, at 1pm with £30 to the winner, £20 for runner up and £10 for third.
