THRILL-SEEKING members of the Hartlepool Round Table are looking for daredevils to join them abseiling off the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough for a noble cause.

The activity has been planned to help toddler Bradley Lowery, who has been diagnosed with high risk stage-4 neuroblastoma.

The charitable organisation has said that eight brave souls have signed up with around £500 received in donations.

Middleton Grange Shopping Centre manager Mark Rycraft, who has organised the fundraiser, said: “I’ve never done anything like this before. I tried to walk across the roof of The Sage in Gateshead last year for Bradley but unfortunately, it got cancelled. I thought I would try something a little bit more daring.”

Mr Rycraft expects to raise £5,000 through the daring stunt that has been planned for September 14.

The fund has raised £200,000 and it is hoped to give it a further boost of £50,000 by the end of the year.

With the cost of scaling down the bridge set at £35 per person, Mr Rycraft said that this could be a once in a life time opportunity for all adrenaline enthusiasts to take part in the event and help raise funds for charity at the same time.

Mr Rycraft has said that safety of the activity has been taken into account while choosing the organisation that will assist with the thrilling activity on the day.
