HARTLEPOOL and East Durham residents may be able to put away their brollies after Sunday afternoon’s deluge of rain.

But the change in weather may only be temporary, as showers look set to return later in the week.

The area looks set for sunny intervals, and highs of 17C and 10mph winds on Monday.

Tuesday’s outlook is cloudy, with a maximum temperature of 10C.

In Hartlepool on Wednesday, there will be light rain, while the temperature will raise slightly to 13C, though the forecast for Peterlee looks drier, with cloud.
