Bristol City right in the Pack and fired up for Boro play-off showdown
Middlesbrough face a huge battle to get back into the Sky Bet Championship play-off places, starting at home to Bristol City tomorrow.
Tony Pulis’s men slipped to seventh place with their 2-1 midweek defeat at Sheffield United, with Millwall climbing up to sixth.
Tomorrow, Boro face eighth-placed Bristol City, who also have designs on the play-offs after resurrecting their hopes with Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Birmingham City at Ashton Gate.
Boro are two points shy of Millwall, with four games to go, and a point in front of Bristol, so tomorrow’s meeting could be pivotal for both sides.
The visitors are determined to capitalise on their midweek springboard.
City midfielder Marlon Pack is full of hope for the run-in.
“If other results go our way then that’s a bonus, but we’re firmly concentrated on getting a result at Middlesbrough,” he told BCTV.
“It would be a great statement and a lot of people would have written us off a bit after our recent form, but it’s down to us all to roll our sleeves up, go there and be counted.
“It’s a crucial game, we’re a point behind and with four games to go and it doesn’t get much bigger than this for us.
“It’s one we are relishing, we’re looking forward to it after a win.
“A good performance would be great, but, at this stage in the season, it’s all about getting that result.”
The Robins head north in good spirits, and knowing that they have not lost a league match at the Riverside before.
