AN entrepreneur is enjoying a slice of business success after years of experience in the catering world.

Leisa Smith, 38, has expanded her firm Liberty Catering Solutions after two years of trading from home and now has a shop in York Road, Hartlepool.

The mum of three, from Seaton Carew, said: “The business grew and we needed some premises. The vibe seemed right about this place.”

Liberty offers breakfasts, sandwiches, daily specials and freshly-made cupcakes from the shop which are going down a storm, said Leisa, who is married to policeman Paul Smith, 39, and has three children Coral, 14, Yasmin, 10, and Leison, aged four.

As well as the shop, Liberty also does outside catering and has a strong client list.

Leisa said: “The two go hand in hand. The shop can’t run by itself and the catering can’t run by itself but they work together.”

Liberty Catering Solutions also has strong links with charity.

It has worked with Barnardo’s, Harbour and centres across Hartlepool and provides catering for events such as lunchtime breaks during courses.

“I am delighted I can work with charity,” said Leisa, whose staff consists of catering manager Katie Bell, 34, and Leisa’s daughter, Coral, who works on Saturdays.

“I feel great that I can put something back into the community and I get a real buzz from it.”

On her hopes for the future Leisa said: “We want the business to go up and up. We are hoping to start children’s parties and we want the shop to be a one-stop place where you can get everything for parties from bespoke cakes to table decorations and balloons.

“I am planning to have parties where the children can be shown how to decorate a cupcake.”
