A BUSINESS forum will bring its series of monthly meetings to a close with an insight into apprenticeships.
The Hartlepool Business Forum has enjoyed a successful events in 2012-2013 which have included a number of firsts this season.
For the first time, more than 20 sponsors have backed the programme and organiser John Megson said that wasn’t the only change on previous years.
For the first time, two venues have been used to host the meetings with Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience playing host from September to November last year, and Hartlepool College of Further Education (HCFE) taking over for the January to April sessions this year.
In another first, interactive workshops have been held, based on the theme held each month. And there’s a fourth new twist.
This month’s meeting is a combined event between HCFE and Cleveland College of Art and Design, with the two colleges being given the chance to shape how they want to best serve the town’s business needs.
Mr Megson said it would be a chance for businesses and colleges to get together “in difficult economic times” to discuss ways of working together and possibly creating job opportunities.
The next meeting starts at 5.15pm on Thursday, April 18, for a buffet and the presentation starts at 6pm.
The theme is Providing Students and Apprentices With An Opportunity.
It will look at how working in partnership with a college can enhance business and support the skills development of future generations.
A forum spokesman said: “Local employers and employees will be available on the night to share their experiences with you and demonstrate how their investment in training has paid dividends.”
