A prestigious event in the Hartlepool business calendar is set to be the biggest and best for years.
Organisers of the Hartlepool Business Awards have described this year’s competition as the one with the biggest planned attendance since 2011.

And anyone hoping to grab a last-minute seat will have to check with officials on any remaining places at the awards.
This year’s prestigious competition will be held on Thursday, May 12, at the Borough Hall in Hartlepool.
Prizes in the Service Sector are up for grabs as well as in the categories of Manufacturer of the Year, Business Leader of the Year and Tourism, Leisure and Hospitality.
There are also awards for Creative Industries, Community, Young Entrepreneur, Most Promising New Business, and Investment in Training.
And the elite in Best Small Business will also be involved.
There will also be the announcement of the winner of the biggest award of the evening, which is the Overall Business of the Year.
Awards co-ordinator Andrew Steel said the audience for the event was expected to exceed previous years.
He added: “We are geared up for a great night with the biggest attendance over the last five years.”
This year, the Gus Robinson Foundation has taken over as the new sponsor for the Overall Business of the Year award. TV personality Jeff Stelling will be the guest of honour.
Hartlepool MP Iain Wright will also be at the event, which attracts about 300 guests to the Borough Hall.
